OPEN COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION FOR 
RECRUITMENT TO THE POSTS OF INSPECTOR OF 
CUSTOMS, GRADE II OF THE DEPARTMENT OF SRI 
LANKA CUSTOMS - 2026
APPLICATIONS are called from eligible Sri Lankan 
citizens for the Open Competitive Examination for 
recruitment to the posts of Inspector of Customs, Grade II 
of the Department of Sri Lanka Customs. The application 
for the said post has been published on the www.doenets.lk 
website under “Our Services” through “Online Applications 
(Recruitments/E.B. Exams)” of the Department of 
Examinations and, applications should be submitted through 
online system only. Acceptance of online application starts 
on 14th September 2026 at 9.00 am and ends at 9.00 pm on 
12th October 2026. 
Officers currently serving in Government/provincial 
Government service must submit a copy of the application 
to their head of institution for inclusion in their personal 
file. When called for the interview, they must submit a copy 
of the application certified by the head of institution, along 
with a letter confirming their service.
The applicant shall bear any adverse consequences 
resulting from delay in submitting the application until the 
closing date.
The Examination will be held by the Commissioner 
General of Examinations in December 2026 only at the 
examination centers established in the following main 
towns throughout the island. The date of the examination 
will be notified in due course. Commissioner General of 
Examinations reserves the right to postpone or cancel this 
examination.

If there are no adequate applicants who have applied 
for any of the centers mentioned above, relevant applicants 
will be sent to the center in the second option or to the next 
center closer to it. If the number of applicants is not adequate 
to establish examination centers in all the proposed towns 
or more towns, the Commissioner General of Examinations 
will take action to hold the examination only in Colombo. 
The applied town will not be allowed to change later as 
required by the applicants.
Applications for this post are invited from both males 
and females who have fulfilled the qualifications given 
below:
02.	 Eligibility :-
	
I.	 Every applicant should furnish satisfactory proof 
to prove that he/she:
(a)	 is a citizen of Sri Lanka,
(b)	 is of excellent moral character,
(c)	 is not less than 18 years and not more than 24 
years of age to the closing date of applications.
