13.2	 Syllabus for the Examination

Note 2: To get through, candidates must obtain an 
aggregate total of 40% or more from the marks of 
Paper I and Paper II indicated in Table 13.1 above.
14.0 RELEASE OF EXAMINATION RESULTS: 
The procedure for releasing examination results is as 
follows:
	
I.	 The Commissioner General of Examinations 
will forward two copies of the results of 
all candidates who sit for the examination, 
classified separately by province, to the 
Secretary of the Ministry of Education, 
Higher Education and Vocational Education.
	
II.	 One copy of the said examination result sheets 
forwarded to the Secretary of the Ministry of 
Education, Higher Education and Vocational 
Education will be sent by the Secretary to the 
Provincial Ministry/Department of Education 
to enable the verification of the examination 
results of the relevant teachers.
	
III.	 Additionally, the Department of Examinations 
will provide the opportunity for applicants 
to download the Efficiency Bar examination 
results applicable to the confirmation of 
appointment and grade promotions of 
Officers of the aforementioned services. The 
result sheet downloaded in this manner must 
be submitted by the applicant to the Zonal 
Director of Education, and the result sheet 
must be verified by the Zonal Director of 
Education through the Provincial Ministry of 
Education/Provincial Director of Education 
and included in the relevant Officer's personal 
file.
	
IV.	 Based on the verified results, the Provincial/
Zonal education authorities must take 
necessary actions for the confirmation of 
appointment and grade promotion of the 
relevant teachers.
	
V.	 The decision of the Commissioner General 
of Examinations regarding the examination 
results shall be final.
15.0	 On any matter for which provision is not made in this 
examination notification, the decision of the Secretary 
of the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and 
Vocational Education shall be final and conclusive.
	
In the event of any inconsistency or discrepancy 
between the language texts of this notification 
published in the Sinhala, Tamil, and English media, 
the notification in the Sinhala medium shall be 
prevailed.
