6.0	 Salary Scale:
	
For this post, a monthly salary scale of Rs. 41,800 – 10 x 490 - 10 x 540 – 10 x 590 – 12 x 630 – 65,560 is applicable 
under PL-2-2025 of Public Administration Circular No. 10/2025. Salary will be paid from the effective date of the 
appointment in accordance with the provisions of Schedule II of the said circular.
7.0	 Method of Recruitment:
	
Marks for the posts in the Primary (Semi-Skilled) Officer Category (PL-2-2025) of the Department of National Museums 
will be awarded in the professional test and structured interview according to the following procedure.

*Note:
Participation in the professional  test and structured interview shall not be considered as fulfilling the qualifications for 
the offer of appointment.
8.0	 Method of Application :
8.1	 Applications should be prepared by the candidates themselves on 21 x 29 cm (A4) size paper using both sides, in 
accordance with the specimen application form given at the end of this notification.
8.2	 Applications that do not conform to the prescribed specimen form, or are incomplete and improperly filled out, 
will be rejected without any prior notice.
8.3	 Receipt of applications will not be acknowledged. No complaints regarding applications lost in the post will be 
considered.
8.4	 Being called for the interview shall not be considered as  an acceptance that the applicant has fulfilled the 
qualifications required for these posts.
8.5 	 On the top left-hand corner of the envelope enclosing the application, “ "Recruitment to the Post of ................. 
in the Primary (Semi-Skilled) Officer Category of the Department of National Museums - 2026” should be 
clearly stated according to the post applied for.
8.6	 The applicant's signature on the application form must be attested by a Principal of a Government School, a 
Justice of the Peace, a Commissioner for Oaths, a Notary Public, a Commissioned Officer of the Armed Forces, 
an Officer holding a gazetted post in the Police Service, or an Officer holding a permanent post in Public Service 
in  a Tertiary or Senior Level salary grade according to Public Administration Circular No. 06/2006.
8.7	 The final decision regarding the filling of these vacancies, leaving them vacant, or filling a portion of the vacancies, 
as well as all other matters, rests with the Director General of National Museums
