Legal Officer 01 RECRUITMENT FOR THE POSTS OF EXAMINER (ENGINEERING) AND PORT STATE CONTROLLER (ENGINEERING) IN THE MERCHANT SHIPPING SECRETARIAT OF THE MINISTRY OF PORTS AND CIVIL AVIATION – 2026 APPLICATIONS are hereby invited from Sri Lankan citizens who possess the qualifications specified in Section 02 hereof to fill the vacancies in the posts of Examiner (Engineering) and Port State Controller (Engineering) of the Merchant Shipping Secretariat functioning under the Ministry of Ports and Civil Aviation. Method of Recruitment: Candidates who have fulfilled the qualifications specified in this notice and obtain the highest marks at a structured interview conducted by a structured board appointed by the Public Service Commission shall be recruited on a permanent basis. The marking scheme for the structured interview, as approved by the Public Service Commission, is provided under Section 05 of this notice. 02. Required Qualifications: (i) Educational Qualifications, Experience and Other Qualifications Post Educational Qualifications Experience and Other Qualifications Port State Controller (Engineering) Possession of a Certificate of Competency as Chief Engineer issued by the Government Maritime Administration of Sri Lanka, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, China, India, Pakistan, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa, or Ireland, or by a country that has entered into a bilateral agreement with Sri Lanka regarding the recognition of such certificates. Possession of a minimum of 02 years experience as Chief Engineer on board a seagoing merchant vessel with a capacity exceeding 300 kilowatts. Examiner (Engineering)
