OPEN COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION FOR RECRUITMENT TO GRADE III OF THE POST OF 
SUPERINTENDENT OF WORKS IN SUPERVISORY MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT TECHNICAL SERVICE 
CATEGORY OF LAND COMMISSIONER GENERAL’S DEPARTMENT – 2026
Applications are invited from candidates who fulfill the qualifications mentioned in 02 below, for two (02) vacancies in the 
post of Grade III of Superintendent of Works in the Supervisory Management Assistant Technical Service category of the 
Land Commissioner General’s Department.
01.	 Method of Recruitment –
Vacancies in the post of Superintendent of Works in the Supervisory Management Assistant Technical Service category 
will be filled by the Land Commissioner General, as authorized by the Public Service Commission, based on the results 
of a written examination and a general interview conducted for persons who have fulfilled the qualifications specified 
in 02 below.
02.	Qualifications – 
I.	
Educational Qualifications - Should have passed the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) 
Examination at one and the same sitting in three (03) Science subjects, including Combined Mathematics and 
any two (02) subjects selected from Physics, Chemistry, and Engineering Technology.
and
Should have passed the General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level) Examination in one and the same 
sitting with passes in six (06) subjects, including Credit passes in Sinhala/Tamil/English Language, Science, 
Mathematics, and one other subject
II.	
Professional Qualifications –
National Diploma in Technology (NDT) awarded by the University of Moratuwa or the Hardy Advanced 
Technological Institute, Ampara,
or
National Diploma in Engineering Sciences awarded by the National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority 
(NAITA),
or
Higher National Diploma in Engineering awarded by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education,
or
Diploma in Technology awarded by the Open University of Sri Lanka,
or
Successful completion of Part I of the Engineering Examination conducted by the Institution of Engineers, Sri 
Lanka (IESL),
or
A National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 6 relevant to the field of employment;
or
Any other technical qualification recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) as 
being equivalent in all respects to any of the above qualifications, after consultation with the Ministry of Higher 
Education and the institutions that award the aforesaid technical qualifications.
