​09.	 Closing Date for Applications	
:-	 Applications submitted must be fully completed and accurate. Certified copies 
of educational and other certificates to prove the qualifications under clauses 4 
and 5 must be attached properly.
	
	
	
​If it is revealed prior to recruitment that any information provided in your 
application is false or incorrect, your candidature will be cancelled. If such false 
or incorrect information is revealed after recruitment, action will be taken to 
dismiss you from service subject to the relevant procedures.

OPEN COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION FOR RECRUITMENT TO GRADE III OF THE SRI LANKA FOREIGN 
SERVICE – (2026)
APPLICATIONS are hereby called to fill 25 vacancies in Grade III of the Sri Lanka Foreign Service (hereinafter referred 
to as the “Service”) from candidates who are eligible in terms of the Section 02 of this notification. This examination will 
be conducted by the Commissioner General of Examinations on behalf of the Public Service Commission in Colombo 
in November 2026. The application form is available on the website of the Department of Examinations of Sri Lanka 
www.doenets.lk under "Our Service" under "Online Applications – Recruitment/E.B. Exams" and the acceptance of 
applications will open on 07th September 2026 at 09.00 a.m. and will close on 06th October 2026 at 09.00 p.m. Officers 
currently serving in the State / Provincial Public Service should submit a copy of the application to the Head of Institution 
for inclusion in their personal file and should submit a copy of the application certified by the Head of Institution and a letter 
of confirmation of service when called for interview. 
The applicant should bear any adverse consequences arising from delay in submitting the application until the last date.
01.	 Method of Recruitment
	
The qualified candidates in terms of this notification are required to sit for a written examination and an interview for 
assessment of eligibility and will be selected for appointment by the Public Service Commission in the order of merit 
based on the total aggregate of marks obtained in the written examination and interview and the number of vacancies 
available.
