submitted correctly completed applications along 
with the receipt for the payment of the prescribed 
examination fee on or before the closing date for 
applications. A candidate who does not present 
their admission card will not be permitted to sit 
for the examination.
(b)	 A candidate must sit for the examination at the 
examination hall assigned to them. Every candidate 
must get their signature attested on the admission 
card relevant to the assigned examination hall and 
hand it over to the Supervisor on the first day of 
appearing at that hall. A set of rules to be followed 
by every candidate is published at the beginning 
of this Gazette. Examination candidates are 
bound by the rules and regulations laid down 
by the Director General of Sri Lanka Institute 
of Development Administration regarding the 
conduct of the examination and release of results. 
If those rules and regulations are violated, they 
will be subjected to any penalty imposed by the 
Director General of the Sri Lanka Institute of 
Development Administration.
	
Note - The issue of an administration card to a 
candidate shall not be considered as an acceptance 
that they are eligible to sit for the examination or 
that they fulfill the qualifications for the post.
10.	 Examination candidates must prove their identity in the 
examination hall for every subject they appear for, to 
satisfaction of the Supervisor. For this purpose, any of 
the following documents will be accepted.
a.	 National Identity Card
b.	 Valid Passport
c.	 Valid Sri Lankan Driving License.
	
Additionally, candidates must enter the examination 
hall without covering their face and ears so that their 
identity can be verified. Applicants who refuse to prove 
their identity in this manner will not be admitted to 
the examination hall. Furthermore, from the moment 
of entering the examination hall until leaving after the 
examination is over, they must remain without covering 
their face and ears.
11.	 Conditions of Service:
	
Officers recruited to Grade III of Engine Driver 
Assistant will be subject to a three-month (03) training 
period from the date of recruitment, during which 
practical and theoretical training related to the duties of 
the post of Engine Driver Assistant will be provided.
12.	 Conditions of Engagement in Service :
	
i.	 This post is permanent and pensionable. If it is 
already contributed to the Widows' and Orphans' 
Pension Scheme, contributions must be continued.
	
ii.	 Official 
Language 
Proficiency 
must 
be 
completed in accordance with the provisions of 
Public Administration Circular 18/2020 dated 
16.10.2020 and its consequent circulars, as 
applicable to the language medium in which 
eligibility for appointment was obtained. 
	
iii.	 Selected candidates shall be subject to the 
provisions contained in the Establishment Code, 
Financial Regulations, and the Procedural Rules 
issued by the Public Service Commission. 
Furthermore, they are bound to abide by 
departmental instructions regarding orders issued 
by the Government from time to time.
13.	
	
i.	 It is informed that all the provisions stated in 
the approved scheme of recruitment for Engine 
Driver Assistant are applicable regarding these 
recruitments.
	
ii.	 The issuance of an examination admission card 
shall not be considered as a qualification for this 
post.
	
iii.	 the power to make the final decision regarding 
any matter not provided for in this notification 
retains with the General Manager of Railways.
	
iv.	 In the event of any inconsistency between the 
Sinhala and Tamil medium notification of this 
notice, the notification in the Sinhala language 
shall be deemed accurate.
