of the receipt should be kept for future reference.) 
The examination fee will not be refunded under any 
circumstances, and money orders and stamps will not 
be accepted.
08.	 Instructions regarding submission of Applications :
	
	
The application form must confirm to the form of 
specimen attached to this notification. It is specifically 
emphasized that using it, the application should be 
prepared on A4 size paper so that heading numbers 01 
to 06 appear on the first page, 07 to 11 on the second 
page, and the reminder on the third page. Computer-
generated or typed applications may also be used for 
this purpose. Since applications that do not conform 
to the specimen application or contain incomplete 
information will be rejected without notice, before 
submitting the application, candidates should re-check 
whether it conforms to the specimen application in the 
examination notice,  whether all information has been 
included and correctly completed, and whether the 
prescribed examination fee has been paid, its details 
included in the application, and the receipt affixed. 
Furthermore, it will be useful to keep a photocopy of 
the completed application form and a photocopy of the 
receipt for the examination fee.
(a)	 The candidate must complete the application 
form in the language medium in which they 
intend to sit for the examination. When preparing 
the application, it is essential to mention the name 
of the examination cited in the header, in English 
language as well, in applications prepared in both 
Sinhala and Tamil media.
(b)	 The correctly completed application form for 
the examination should be sent by registered 
post to reach the following address on or 
before 28.09.2026. On the top left-hand corner 
of the envelope containing the application, it 
should be clearly written: "Open competitive 
Examination for Recruitment to the Post of 
Railway Engine Driver Assistant of Sri Lanka 
Railway Department - 2026". No application 
received after the date will be accepted.

(c)	 The candidate's signature on both the application 
form and the admission card for the examination 
must be attested by a Principal of a Government 
School, a Justice of the Peace, a Commissioner 
for Oaths, an Attorney-at-Law, a Notary Public, 
a Commissioned Officer of the Armed Forces, 
an Officer holding a gazette post in the Police 
Service, or a Staff Officer holding a permanent 
post in the Government Service.
(d)	 Incomplete applications will be rejected. No 
complaint regarding loss or delay of an application 
in the post will be considered.
(e)	 Receipt of applications will not be acknowledged.
	
As soon as admission cards for the written examination 
are issued to candidates, a notice to that effect will be 
published in newspaper and on the official website of 
the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration. 
If the admission card is not received even after 2 
or 3 days have elapsed from the publication of the 
notice, it should be notified to the Sri Lanka Institute 
of Development Administration as specified in the 
advertisement. When giving notice in this manner, 
the name of the examination applied for, the full 
name, address, and National Identity Card number 
of the applicant should be stated. If the applicant 
resides outside Colombo, it will be more effective to 
send a request letter stating those details along with 
the applicant's fax number via fax to the fax number 
mentioned in the notice to received a copy of the 
admission card.
	
Furthermore, to verify any required information 
requested by the Sri Lanka Institute of Development 
Administration, it will be useful for the applicant to 
keep the copy of the application form retained, the 
copy of the receipt for the examination fee, and the 
registered post receipt obtained when mailing the 
application. 
09.	 Sitting for the Examination :
(a)	 On the presumption that only those processing 
the qualifications specified in the Gazette Notice 
have applied, admission cards will be issued 
by the Sri Lanka Institute of Development 
Administration to candidates who fall within 
the age limit mentioned in the notice and have
