OPEN COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION FOR 
RECRUITMENT OF GRADE III OF THE  
SRI LANKA INLAND REVENUE SERVICE 2026
THE Notification titled 'Open Competitive Examination for 
Recruitment to Grade III of the Sri Lanka Inland Revenue 
Service - 2026', published in Gazette No. 2,500 dated 31 
July 2026, is hereby amended as follows:
	
I.	
The age-related paragraph under Section 7(c) of the 
above Gazette Notification is amended as follows :
	
	
"The applicant should be not less than twenty-two 
(22) years of age and not more than thirty-five (35) 
years of age as at 31.08.2026." (Accordingly, the 
age-related qualification shall be deemed to have 
been fulfilled only if the applicant's date of birth falls 
on or before 31.08.2004 and on or after 31.08.1991.)
	
	
The maximum age limit for those employed in the 
Public Service or Provincial Public Service is 35 
years. (Candidates employed in the Public Service 
should not have been subjected to any disciplinary 
punishment in accordance with Public Service 
Commission Circular No. 01/2020.)
	 II.	
The closing date for the receipt of applications is 
hereby extended to 11.09.2026. All other provisions 
contained in the above Gazette Notification shall 
remain unchanged and in force, and the date for the 
verification of qualificaitons shall remain unchanged 
as 31.08.2026."
