SRI LANKA ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE
Limited Competitive Examination for Recruitment 
to Grade  III of  Sri Lanka Administrative Service 
– 2026
APPLICATIONS are hereby called from the Sri Lankan 
citizens who have satisfied the qualifications indicated in 
this notification for the Limited Competitive Examination 
conducted to fill 40 vacancies that exist in the Posts in Grade 
III of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service on limited basis. 
The application is published on the website of 
the

Examinations, 
Sri

at 
www.doenets.lk in ‘Online Applications – Recruitment 
Exams / E.B. Exams’ under ‘Our Services’. Applications 
can strictly be submitted online. The acceptance of online 
applications will commence at 9:00 a.m. on August 31, 
2026, and close at 9:00 p.m. on September 30, 2026.
Officers must hand over a copy of the application to their 
respective Heads of Institutions to be included in their 
personal file and a copy of the application certified by the 
Head of the Institution and a letter of service confirmation 
must be submitted at the time of being called for the 
interview.
The  applicant must bear any adverse  effect resulting 
from  delaying  the  submission  of the  application 
until the closing date of applications.
This examination will be held by the Commissioner 
General of Examination in the month of December in the 
Colombo district subjected to the orders of Public Service 
Commission. The Commissioner General of Examination 
reserves the power to postpone or cancel this examination 
subjected to the orders of the Public Service Commission.  
 
01.	 In this notification the terms
a.	 “Secretary” means the “Secretary of the Ministry in 
– charge of the subject of Public Administration”.
b.	 “Service” means the “Sri Lanka Administrative 
Service” unless specified otherwise.
02.	 This examination is conducted for recruitment to 
Grade III of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service. 
(a) Written Examination: This examination will 
consist of the following four (04) question papers.
(1)	 General Intelligence 
(2)	 Social, Economic, Political Background 
of Sri Lanka and Global Trends
(3)	 Case 
study 
relating 
to 
Public 
Administration 
I 
(Relevant 
to 
Establishments Code, Procedural Rules 
of Public Services Commission and 
Financial regulations)
(4)	 Case 
study 
relating 
to 
Public 
Administration II ( Relevant to the 
evaluation of creative, analytical and 
communication skills)
(b) Interview: Applicants who obtain the highest 
marks based on the total aggregate of marks 
obtained for all subjects in the written examination 
shall qualify to appear for the general interview. 
Applicants who are verified to have fulfilled all 
recruitment qualifications at the general interview 
shall be eligible to be called for the structured 
interview.
	
Only a number of candidates equal to the total of 
the number of vacancies expected to be filled and 
25% of that number of vacancies will be called for 
this general interview. The date of the interview 
will be determined by the Secretary as directed by 
the Public Service Commission.
03.	 The number of appointments made to this post and the 
effective date of appointment shall be determined as 
per the order of the Public Service Commission. The 
Public Service Commission reserves the power to fill 
any number of vacancies or all the vacancies. In the 
event where candidates who scored equal marks for 
the final vacancy or the last few vacancies exceed the 
number of available vacancies, the decision regarding 
the filling of such vacancies shall be given by the 
Public Service Commission in terms of Rule 92 of the 
Procedural Rules.
04.	 Service Conditions: 
4.1	 A selected candidate will be appointed to Grade III 
of Sri Lanka Administrative Service subject to the
