04.	 Monthly Salary Scale
	
According to Public Administration Circular No. 
10/2025 dated 2025.03.25, the monthly salary scale 
applicable to this post (RS 1-2025) is Rs. 49,550 - 7 
x 540 - 27 x 670 - 71,420 /-. That is, it will be made 
on the initial salary step of Rs. 49,550/-. In addition to 
this, you will also be entitled to other allowances paid 
by the Government to public officers from time to time.
05.	 Qualifications for Recruitment
(a)	 Physical Qualifications -
	
(i)  	Every candidate must possess sufficient 
physical and mental fitness to serve in 	
 	 of Sri Lanka and to perform the duties of 
the post.
	
ii) 	 Height (without footwear):
	
	 -Male applicants must be 05 feet 06 inches 
(5' 6").
	
	 -Female applicants must be 05 feet 02 
inches (5' 2").
	
(iii)	 Vision: Must possess "A2" vision without 
spectacles. (This is subject to passing the 
L.B. 29 vision test).
	
iv)	 Chest measurement must be 32 inches. (For 
Male Applicants Only)
(b)	 Educational Qualifications:
	
Having been passed six (06) subjects with two (02) 
credit passes, including Sinhala/Tamil, English, 
and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings at 
the G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) Examination.
(c)	 Age:
	
As of 2026.09.28, the minimum age limit shall not 
be less than 18 years, and the maximum age limit 
shall not be more than 28 years. (Accordingly, 
only those whose date of birth falls on or before 
2008.09.28 and on or after 1997.09.29 are eligible 
to apply).
(d)	 Other -
	
(i)	 Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
	
(ii)	 All applicants must be unmarried.
	
(iii)	 Must be of sound character.
	
(iv)	 No person holding an ordained position in 
any religion is permitted to apply for or sit 
for this competitive examination.
	
(v)	 All the required qualifications specified 
above for recruitment to the post must have 
been completed in every respect by the date 
specified in the Gazette notification calling 
for applications.
06.	 Examination Fee:
	
The examination fee is Rs. 1200.00. This amount can 
be paid at any People's Bank branch to be credited 
to Account No. 176-100129027-313 of the General 
Manager of Railways at the People's Bank Town Hall 
Branch on or before the closing date for applications. 
The receipt issued for this must be pasted firmly in the 
relevant box of the application form. (A photocopy 
of the receipt should be kept for future reference.) 
The examination fee will not be refunded under any 
circumstances, and money orders and stamps will not 
be accepted.
07.	 Method of Application
	
The application must conform to the specimen form 
attached to this notice. Using it, special care should be 
taken to prepare the application on A4 size paper so 
that heading numbers 1.0 to 6.0 fall on the first page, 
7.0 to 12 (i) on the second page, 12 (ii) to 14 (c) on the 
third page and the rest on the other pages. Computer-
generated or typed applications may also be used for 
this purpose. Since applications not conforming to the 
specimen form and applications containing incomplete 
information will be rejected without notice, applicants 
must re-verify prior to forwarding the application 
whether it conforms to the specimen application 
mentioned in the examination notice, whether it is 
filled correctly including all information, and whether 
the prescribed exam fee has been paid with its details 
included and receipt attached. Furthermore, keeping 
a photocopy of the completed application and a 
photocopy of the receipt related to the exam fee will be 
useful.
a)	 The applicant must complete the application 
in the language medium in which they intend 
to appear for the examination. When preparing 
the application, it is essential to mention the 
name of the examination cited in the header, 
in English language as well, in applications 
prepared in both Sinhala and Tamil media.
(b)	 The accurately completed application for the 
examination must be sent by registered post 
to reach the address given below on or before 
2026.09.28. On the top left-hand corner of 
the envelope containing the application, it 
must be clearly written: "Open Competitive 
Examination for Recruitment to the Post 
of Railway Security (Male/Female) of the 
Railway Security Service of the Sri Lanka 
Railways Department - 2026". No application 
received after that date will be accepted.
