Part II - Short questions, structured questions and essay type questions on a case, statement or paragraph in order to 
test the aptitude for Management Service Officers Service. (1 hour 15 minutes – 50 marks)
Aptitude (Duration - 1 hour)
This paper shall consist of subject related questions designed to test the candidates’ skill at numbers, power of critical 
reasoning and general intelligence. 
This consists of 50 questions of Multiple Choice and Short Answer model.  (Duration 01 hour)
All questions should be answered.
14.0	  The decision of the Director General of Combined Services shall be final regarding any matter not provided for in 
this notice of examination.
15.0   In the event of any inconsistency between the Sinhala, Tamil and English medium notifications, the Sinhala notification 
shall prevail.

Open written Competitive Examination for Recruitment to the Post of Railway Security (Male / Female) 
- Grade III of the Railway Security Service of the Sri Lanka Railway Department – 2026
APPLICATIONS are invited from qualified Sri Lankan citizens for recruitment to 239 vacancies in the post of Railway 
Security (Male) and 17 vacancies in the post of Railway Security (Female) in the Railway Security Service of the Sri Lanka 
Railway Department.
1)	 Recruitment under this is made for the post of Railway Security (Male / Female) of the Railway Security Service 
in the Sri Lanka Railway Department.
2)	 Closing date for calling applications -28.09.2026.
Note -
1. 	 Complaints regarding the loss or delay of an application or related letter in the post will not be considered. 
Applicants must bear the consequences of any issues that may arise from delaying the submission of applications 
until the closing date for receiving applications.
2.	 It should be emphasized that since all applicants who apply are referred for further steps under the pre-assumption 
that they fulfill the necessary qualifications, being referred to the structured interview or the written examination 
shall not be considered as having fulfilled the required qualifications.
1.1	 Preliminary Test for Physical Fitness Assessment and Interview for Verification of eligibility
All applicants will be referred for this test, and among the applicants who appear for it, those who obtain 50% or 
a higher level of total marks will be referred for the written examination.
