Vision Requirements :-
	
Vision should be between 6/6 and 6/12 minimum, with or without wearing spectacles or contact lenses, and 
colour vision should be normal.	
	
5:5 	 Other
4:5:1	 Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
4:5:2	 Applicants should have maintained an excellent character which is expected by the Sri Lanka Police.
5:5:3	 Both married and unmarried persons can apply.
5:5:4	 Should be bound to work in any part of the Island.
5:5:5	 Both male and female persons can apply.
5:5:6	 Should not have undergone body modifications (E.g.: Tattoos)
5:5:7	 Qualifications mentioned from 5.1 to 5.6, which are required for recruitment to the post, should have been 
acquired in all respects by the date mentioned in the notice inviting applications/Gazette. 
5:6	 Age
	
Age should be between 25 - 45 years at the closing date of applications according to the gazette notification.
06.	 Method of Recruitment 
	
Applicants who have positive background check reports and who have passed the medical test will be recruited to the 
existing vacancies in the order of merits, based on the aggregate of the marks obtained in the structured interview.

07.	 Background Check    
7.1	 The background check will be conducted to confirm the good character of the applicants qualified for recruitment. 
7.2	 Background checks will also be carried out on the good character and conduct of the applicant, his/her next of 
kin and his/her close companions for confirming the good character of the applicant, and applicants with negative 
background check reports will not be recruited. 
Note :-	 There should not be any criminal reports regarding the next of kin. Applicant’s mother, father, guardians, 
siblings and if the siblings are married, their spouses, and if the applicant is married his/her spouse, also 
considered as next of kin. 
  
7.3	 Providing false information during recruitment by applicants will result in disqualification. If it is revealed, after 
recruitment, that false information had been provided, they will be dismissed from service at any time.
08.	 Medical Test
The applicants who have been selected for the medical test should pass the medical test conducted by a medical board 
including the Director of Police Hospital. In addition, a test will be performed on the applicants to check whether they 
are physically and mentally fit for police duties. The medical test reports should be presented by the Medical Director 
of the Police Hospital under Health 169 form. Applicants who fail the medial test cannot submit appeals.
