Post of Civil Engineer
	
(i)	 Should have obtained a fulltime 04 year 
Degree in Civil Engineering from a 
University recognized by the University 
Grants Commission and the Institute of

5:2	 Professional Qualifications
Post of  Electrical Engineer/ Civil Engineer/ 
Telecommunication Engineer
Having obtained the Associate Membership 
or Corporate Membership of the Institution of 
Engineers, Sri Lanka.
Post of Information Technology
Should have worked as a Computer Engineer in 
one of the fields among the fields of Computer 
Software or Computer Database or Computer 
Networks or Computer Forensics.
Post of Architect 
Having obtained the Associate Membership or 
Corporate Membership of the Sri Lanka Institute 
of Architects.
5.3	
Professional Experience
	
Post of Electrical Engineer/ Civil Engineer/ 
Architect/ Telecommunication Engineer
Service experience of at least three years in a 
reputed institution in the relevant field after 
obtaining the degree.
Post of Information Technology
Having obtained a professional experience of 
at least three years as a Computer Engineer in a 
reputed institution in one of the fields among 
the fields of Computer Software or Computer 
Database or Computer Networks or Computer 
Forensics.
5:4	 Physical Requirements (For all posts)
	
I.	 Should be physically and mentally fit 
to serve in any part of the Island and to 
perform the duties of the post.
	
II.	 Male - Height should be 05 feet and 06 
inches or above, and chest should be 32 
inches or above during expiration.
Female-Height - should not be less than 05 
feet and 04 inches.
(There may be deviation from these height 
limits regarding applicants with special 
qualifications and expertise on the discretion 
of the Inspector General of Police.)
